Russia and American Capitalism

TGI-Fridays: Below was the first McDonalds to open in Russia. It is the largest McDonalds in the world. And of course, Chicken McNuggets. In Moscow, entire buildings undergoing renovation are covered by gigantic ads. Here is one for a Big Mac. Tverskaya Street (Gorky Street in Soviet Days) is the main street of Moscow. Here you can see advertisement banner after advertisement banner lining the street.
During the Soviet period there were two main papers -- Pravda and Izvestia. This is the main office of Izvestia. Above the logo are different soviet symbols including silouette of Lenin. Surrounded by this are all these commercial ads.
